founded Resource Land Holdings in 1998 after ten years of making personal investments in resource real estate in the Northwest. RLH's philosophy on risk management was developed on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where Mr. Leininger spent ten successful years as an independent trader in the Eurodollar Option pit. He authored a book about his trading experiences entitled Lessons from the Pit (Broadman & Holman, 1999). Mr. Leininger graduated from the University of Illinois in 1983, with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics.
JAMES W. GEISZ - Partner
joined Resource Land Holdings in 2000. From 1990 to 2000, he acted as one of the founding partners of TGV Partners, an investment firm specializing in leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations. During that time, TGV assembled $144 million to invest in seven companies. Previously, he had been a principal in the Los Angeles law firm of Riordan & McKinzie. Mr. Geisz received a B.A. from Harvard College in 1974 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1978.
joined RLH in 1998 and has been active in all aspects of its operations. He became a principal in the firm in January 2002. Mr. Patsch is a CFA charter holder and is a member of the CFA Institute. He graduated with honors from Wheaton College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics.

From 2003 until 2006, Byron was an associate at Cochran Caronia Waller, a Chicago-based boutique investment bank where he worked with insurance industry clients to execute mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, as well as public and private financings. He began his professional career at KPMG, LLP in Chicago, as an associate in the assurance department. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science in Accountancy. He is a Certified Public Accountant and received the Excel Award on the 2002 CPA Exam.
PAUL M. JOHNSON - Director of Accounting
joined Resource Land Holdings in 2005. From 2002 to 2005, Paul was the Controller at Griffis/Blessing Inc., Colorado Springs largest real estate firm. From 1994 to 2002, Paul was the Controller for the Lane Affiliated Companies, a multi-state Pepsi-Cola Company franchise. He began his professional career at Deloitte and Touche as a Tax Accountant in Colorado Springs. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Additionally, he graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Masters of Public Accountancy.
JESSE McDOWELL - Vice President
after graduating from Wheaton College in 1998, Mr. McDowell joined a boutique commercial real estate development company where he managed the investment and development of numerous projects across multiple asset classes including office, industrial, retail, and mixed-use. In 2004 he began his own development company completing projects throughout the Colorado front range including a signature office building for Resource Land Holdings in Colorado Springs. In 2012 he joined Resource Land Holdings.
